It's easy to charge with Elton. This is how you do it:
Connect the car to the chargerSome cars have an adapter and can charge with more inputs than standard. Your car dealership should inform you of this situation.
Hit "Charge" in the Elton app.
The button is located at the bottom of the app. You will also see this button if you have selected a charging station in the map or in the route planner.
Scan the QR-code on the charger.
You'll find this close to the output of the charger. Some chargers have several outputs, so make sure you scan the code matching the output to which your car is connected. You can also hit "Use charger number" to manually enter the charger's EVSE code.
Start charging
Choose payment option and hit "Start charging". It might take a few second for the charging session to start.
Avslutt lading i appen
To end a charging session, hit "Stop charging".Some cars requires you to also end the session from inside the car. If you're not able to disconnect the cable from you car after your session is complete, it's most likely because you need to end the session manually in the car as well.

Elton does not support Plug & Charge as of now. All charging sessions must be started in the app. With Elton you can charge at all charging stations run by operators we have a commercial partnership with. We cooperate with operators in the Nordics – click here to see partners in every country. "Can I register other RFID chips in Elton?"
No. We want to provide a digital and simple charging experience. Therefore, you don't need to register fysical chips in the app to charge your car. Here are some tips to try if you experience problems with the charger at a charging station. Test these out before contacting us or the charging operator:
Check that the charging cable is properly connected to your car. If you are charging with your own cable check that it is properly connect to the charing point also. Some rapid chargers can be very sensitive. Remove the cable and try again by holding it tightly in position in your car for a few seconds.
If charging has not started after 1-2 minutes, stop charging and try again.
Do you have enough credit on the card you paid with? We reserve NOK 500 when you start charging (with Vipps. 70 NOK with card), check that you have enough credit for the chosen payment method and try again.
Stop charging, close the app completely, open it and try again.
"Charging cable stuck"
If none of the above steps help and the charging cable is still stuck in either your car or the charging point, you can try the following:If the cable is stuck in the charging point: Many charging points have a large red stop button located somewhere on the charger. Push this button. If there is no such button, contact the charging operator's customer service (see below).
If the cable is stuck in you car: Lock the car and then unlock it again. In many cases, it releases the charging cable from the car. Some cars have a manual stop button inside the car on the screen or next to the charging port in the car. Push this button if the car has this option.
«Unable to stop a charging session in the Elton app»
Are you unable to stop a charging sessions in the app even-though you have take out the charging cable and startet driving? Go into Settings under Profile and choose "Force reset active charging session".
If none of the tips do the trick, please contact Elton's customer service. All chargers are not the same. They come in many variants, and it is the capacity (kW) which determines the difference. A high capacity means more power and faster charging. How fast a charging session can be also depends on your car.
We have split chargers into three groups:
Normal
These blue chargers are under 21 kW.
A "full" charge with these chargers normally takes hours, but if you have lots of time you will find these in many big cities.
Rapid
All these chargers are between 50 kW and 149 kW. These are considerably faster than the normal chargers, and a session is typically completed after 30 to 60 minutes.
Ultra Rapid
All these chargers are 150 kW and upwards. To benefit from the extra speed, your car needs to support this amount of kW. By selecting the spesific car you are driving in the Elton app, you will see how fast your car can charge and if it can benfit from the extra speed ultra rapid chargers offer.
For example:
If your car support rapid charging up to 50 kW, you will end up paying more than you need for chargers who support a higher effect, which your car is unable to accept. These chargers are often more expensive to use.
Many new EVs support rapid charging with a very high capacity, and there can be much time to be gained by charging at these stations.
But don't worry about these things. Select your car in the app, we'll find the chargers suited for your car.
We also estimate how long sessions at different stations will take, and the price.
