From Oslo to Florø with just one charging app

Can you cross Norway with an electric car and just one simple charging solution in 2026? When Pia and her family were heading to Florø by EV for the second time, they used only Elton the entire way. Along the road, she also got rid of last year's "vacation rage."

The EV vacation without Elton

This is the second year Pia and her family set out on a long trip by electric car to Western Norway. Last year they drove the same route, but it wasn't always easy to find chargers in Western Norway, or to manage charging across all the different operators.

"Last year I didn't know about Elton, and we used many different solutions. We thought it would be perfectly easy to find chargers and pay along the way without thinking too much about it. It quickly got a bit messy. We arrived at charging queues, I struggled with chargers that wouldn't release from the car, and chargers that hadn't started by the time I came back from the store done shopping. That was the biggest pain point last year, when we drove around looking for available chargers that charged quickly. On top of that, the charging experience is exactly the same at all the chargers where Elton works, so I avoided that scenario where I had to call an operator because the charger was stuck."

"Being able to both plan for the best-case scenario and have the flexibility to charge when we need to was a game changer for us this summer. We don't want to spend a lot of time charging the car when we're in Western Norway. We want to spend our time recharging our own batteries together as a family. It's pretty nice to know that the trip home at the end of July will also be stress-free with Elton," Pia concludes.
